USING THE WEBSITE TO PAY FOR MEMBERSHIP & FOR CLASSES & OTHER EVENTS
ASOC will mostly communicate with you via the email address you supply to us. Please note that some emails from us maybe marked “Spam’ or ‘Junk’ or ‘Promotion’ (in GMail) we have no control over this filtering. Please check those folders if you think you missed a notification. There is also the possibility that your email quota has been exceeded and because you mailbox is full you won’t get the emails from ASOC or anybody else. A simple test is to get a friend or college to send you an email. They should get a mailbox full eror at their end if this is the case.
Membership
New Membership steps – doing it for yourself using your credit card:
- Click Join ASOC. [link]
- Fill in the onlne consent form (Step1)
- Choose the Plan that suits you (Step2)
- Fill your (the member) details and proceed to ‘cart’ & making a Credit card payment
- You now have a customer account and some information will be available to you through the “My Account’ link RH top (see image)
- In your customers my account you will see:
- Orders – the payment you just made
- My Subscriptions – the non activated (yet) subscription you have just bought including the expiry date
- Renew Now button for renewals
- Address – Your Billing address
- Payment Method – how you paid
- Account Details – Name etc you supplied plus the ability to change your customer password
- Logout – Where you can logout of the account
- You should receive a email confirming your order recieved and account created as a customer with a link to the account page detailed above and A LINK TO SET YOUR PASSWORD
- Click that link and put your email address in the forgotten password dialog
- Check your email you should now have an email that allows you to set your password, please do so and record the password somewhere safe
- When your funds clear one of our volunteers will Activate your membership, this could take a couple of days, and you will get a order complete (summary) notification that this is done
- You can now login using the Login link in the RH top header of the site, and have access to My Account AND the members only sections of the site
- You will recieve a membership card in the mail. (Please note ASOC is no longer using Membership numbers)
New Membership paying by EFT
After you have filled in the online consent form you can pay for your membership by EFT. This isn’t our prefered method as it adds extra work for our volunteers and will delay your membership activation.

We recognise that you maybe assisting the member with this process so we have a form that is designed specifically for this. Payment is by EFT.

ASOC will process your Membership and inform you when it is done and that the next steps are via the email address you provided.
These are:

Membership renewals
Renewal reminders:
We will out an email reminder to renew your membership at 14 days before expiry:
If you allow your membership to lapse you will need to join as a new member.
Renewing a membership by credit card yourself:
- Login (top right) to My Account [link]
- Click in Subscriptions
- Click on RENEW NOW
- Pay for your membership
- At this point the system will have your new subscription on hold while the funds clear, however you can still access the members areas
- You will recieve an email notifying the processing and completion of your renewal order
- Once complete:
- Your My Account page will display the new subscription membership period – the ‘Next payment date’ is the last day of your Membership Subscription
- You will continue to have access to the members only sections of the site, as before.
Please note you can renew anytime within your membership/ subscription period, the renewal date will be the same as your initial membership registration + 1 year.

Forgotten password
If you have forgotten your password the system has a mechanism to assist you. Click on Login and then Lost your password?
Changing your email address
Please try to avoid this. If you must contact us.
Please do not create a new account with the same member name and a different email address as a work around. Please contact us
Changing your username
It is not possible to change your username. If you have forgotten your username, you can use your email address to login. If you have more than one email address, remember to use the one that you registered for this account.
You can use either your username or email to login

Can be done in the My Account page
Phone number change
Can be done in the My Account page
Transfering a membership
Membership rights are not transferrable – Section 7 ASOC Constitution.
Refunding a membership
Memberships are not refundable.
Auto renewals
ASOC currently (Aug 2022) doesn’t implement auto renewing of memberships.
Some pre July / Aug 2022 accounts were setup by members as auto renewals, this process is no longer activated on the ASOC website, but the settings are in systems and accounts outside the ASOC website so some will still be acive.
Delays in account creation and or card delivery
If you pay by EFT there is some delay while funds clear and a volunteer activates your account. Please be patient
